Do you know where yellow dress was custom in the eleventh century? It was supposedly in a religious community  near Tibet.
One of my guides about the Himalaya mentions the rise of a new religion in the fifteenth century in eastern Tibet initiated by a buddhist monk called Tsongkhapa who resented traditional monasteric disciplin. He founded a community called the Gelugpa or the school of the virtuous.  In stead of a traditional red cap they wore a yellow hood. Perhaps you mean the Gelugpa community.

Do you know what kind of dress people wear in Cambodia, perhaps some sort of buddhist clothing?
In Cambodia men as well as women often wear a sarong when they are at home. People who can afford it prefer a silk sarong.  In the large cities the men wear trousers when they are out in the street, the women wear modern western dress. At special occasions the women wear a "hol" or blouse in daytime. In the evening they wear a "phamuong" or silk dress with ornaments at the brim. At a wedding festival the colour of their dress is determined by the day of the week on which the marriage takes place. A visit to a temple requires decent clothing. The ethnic-cultural minorities do not wear traditional dress any more.
