The Far East in Words and Pictures 

Introduction

In june 1997 I travelled to several islands in Indonesia. On Sumatra  I visited the villages of the Batak people surrounding Lake Toba. On  Java  I went to a tea plantation  near Malabar and to the Prembanan and Borobudur monuments near Yogyakarta. On Sulawesi I visited several villages and burial sites in the land of Torajas. On Bali I saw several distinguished hindu temples and cultural performances.

On my way I made many pictures. Watch the pictures by clicking the button in the menu on the left. By clicking the "slides" button the pictures are conveniently shown in a slide show.
