Introduction |

In june 1997 I travelled to several islands in Indonesia. On Sumatra I visited the villages of the Batak people surrounding Lake Toba. On Java I went to a tea plantation near Malabar and to the Prembanan and Borobudur monuments near Yogyakarta. On Sulawesi I visited several villages and burial sites in the land of Torajas. On Bali I saw several distinguished hindu temples and cultural performances. Toba Bataks with Si Gale Gale puppet in Simanindo On my way I made many pictures.
