Introduction |

In november 2001 I travelled to Laos. I visited villages of tribes such as Akha, Yao, Lenten and Hmong in the northwestern part of the country. In the old royal city of Luang Prabang I walked along historical temples. In the main capital Vientiane I visited religious buildings and historical monuments. The Plain of Jars near Phonsavan locates mysterious relics of a distant past. In Champassak the remnants are to be found of an old temple called Wat Phou. I also visited some islands in the south in a region called Si Phan Don. Yao woman with baby in Oudom Sin On my way I made many pictures and video recordings.
